Puffins - Year 2

Welcome to Puffins, our Key Stage 1 class for pupils ages 6-7

Mrs Ollier is the class teacher for our Puffins and she is wonderfully supported by Mrs Heneghan.

We are very fortunate to have a light and spacious infant block for our class, with an additional learning environment outside as our classroom continues outside our door. We use our outside environment throughout the year for both learning and playing. We like to keep our learning as active as possible, using songs and actions to learn our phonics sounds ,new vocabulary, and to aid us in number learning.

We also spend a term in the local forest doing Forest School each year and we also make use of our school running track throughout the year for our little exercise sessions.

In our classroom we have a bank of computers which we use to support our curriculum, particularly for phonics and literacy. We do lots of creative activities to support our maths and writing and we always end our day with a nice story.
