Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Occasionally some of our children will require some additional support at some point in their time at school. We do our best to ensure that we can meet the needs of every individual child.
For many children we are able to provide the support they need through carefully modifying our regular teaching programmes. If we ever have concerns about your child’s learning or development we will always contact you as soon as possible. We would then like to work in partnership with you, to discuss the support that we can offer at school and the activities you could try at home.
Sometimes children need more targeted support. When this happens we may involve outside specialists, for example speech and language therapists or educational psychologists, to provide us with some expert guidance. We will always ask for your consent before your child is seen by an outside agency. In a few cases we may need to refer to the Local Education Authority to consider an Education, Health and Care Needs Plan (EHCP) which provides a clear, detailed plan to meet your child’s needs.
We want to ensure that every child has the support that they need to flourish at Holy Trinity. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s needs please do not hesitate to discuss them with us.
