Robins - Reception & Year 1

Welcome to Robins, our reception class and Year 1  class for pupils aged 4-6 years.

Our Robins class is led by the wonderful Mrs Carver, who is brilliantly assisted by our HLTA, Mrs Edgar.

We are very fortunate in that our classroom spills out into the outside classroom, which is available for use all year round. Both the inside classroom and the outside classroom have been carefully planned to enable children to learn independently and follow their interests.

In our fully resourced classroom, there are computers and a cosy reading area, as well as an exciting role play area. This area is constantly changing and being adapted to the children's interests and the topic we are working on; it is a fantastic extension of all our learning.

The children adore the outside classroom. We often see them planting and weeding in the garden, or on the climbing frame. The children are great at designing their own games and role plays. The climbing frame and playhouse are fantastic tools for stimulating their imaginations; we are often asked to look out for tigers and monkeys in our 'jungle' or for brave explorers putting their skills to the test. The playhouse has at some point been a palace, a florist and even a hospital.
