Falcons

Welcome to Falcons, our Junior class for Key Stage 2 pupils aged 7-9.

The class teachers are Mrs Jameson and Mrs Clarke and they are assisted by Mrs Heald and Mr Moore.

Moving up to the Juniors is an exciting time.  The children are ready to take on more responsibility for their own learning and develop skills of independence and decision making.  Every child takes on a class job to encourage their sense of collaborative responsibility.

Falcons class are passionate about the environment and run the school’s eco club which helps support the school’s green ethos.  In 2023 the class led the whole school community in taking part in Wastebuster Planet Protector Challenge.  In July 23 we were awarded the top award, Ambassador Status, for completing all 8 challenges, ranging from saving energy to organising a toy swap.

We love working outside and use the school’s Wildlife Garden regularly in science lessons.  The class all get involved in looking after this area.

For a term each year the class spend an afternoon in woods in our lovely rural setting in Forest School Sessions.

We love history and time travel from Prehistoric times through to the Vikings, often enriching our learning with workshops and visiting guest speakers.

The curriculum is exciting and full of knowledge and skills.  We combine practical activities with the use of technology in lots of our learning.  We love to be creative too.  Life in Falcons is always busy!

Children in Falcons class also get the chance to go swimming weekly for one term in a local swimming pool.
